The one day challenge provides a sampling of the overall La Ruta stage race experience with 86km and 3,368 feet of elevation to conquer. Do not be fooled by the name, this course is arguably the most difficult terrain participants will experience with the most incredible views.
*La Siesta follows the same course and itinerary as Stage 1 of the La Ruta event.
Conquer your limits on the 226km route that crosses five mountain ranges with a cumulative climb of 29,000 feet! The daunting terrain is so harsh that half a millennium ago it took Spanish conquistadors led by Juan De Cavallón 20 years to cross the land of Costa Rica from the Pacific to the Caribbean.
